From 22 to 23 September the Perú Moda Deco Commercial Mission presented in Milan during Fashion Week with Peruvian designers and companies specializing in alpaca, Pima cotton and home decor. An event that wanted to enhance the Andean textile tradition reinterpreted in a contemporary key, a global protagonist of sustainable fashion and creative excellence.
Pima alpaca and cotton, iconic fibers and a symbol of Peruvian textile tradition, landed in Milan for Fashion Week, to tell how the Andean heritage can be transformed into a contemporary proposal of sustainable luxury.
The commercial mission Perú Moda Deco brought Peruvian designers and companies to the Hotel Meliá Milano and the Guffanti Concept Showroom on 22 and 23 September, resulting in an exclusive event that combines design, comfort and traceability.
The presence of Peru in Milan underlined the strength of an industry capable of combining excellent raw materials with responsible processes and innovative creativity. Alpaca, appreciated for its softness, warmth and durability, resonates with the Italian fashion supply chain, bringing uniqueness and sustainability to a market that seeks quality and authenticity. At its side, Pima cotton, among the finest fibers in the world, enriches the offer with lightness, resistance and a contemporary elegance.
Among the protagonists of this mission, designers such as Annaiss Yucra, known for her approach of “artivism”, Ayni, with eco-conscious proposals that connect tradition and modernity and Balkanika artificer of limeña fashion with her creativity. Present, established companies such as Incalpaca and House of Pima, which enhance the potential of Peruvian fibers through traceable, sustainable and high-quality collections, and home decor companies, which have transformed Peruvian craftsmanship into a uniqueness for the home, giving that touch of comfort and sustainable living, such as Alpaca Couture, with accessories undisputed protagonists for cosmopolitan inspired homes.
The special edition of Perú Moda Deco has brought to the spotlight an innovative concept of “contemporary Peruvianness”, where fashion, design and interior design come together in a creative dialogue between tradition and modernity. Ancient artisan techniques, handmade fabrics and natural dyes intertwine with global trends and European standards of responsible consumption, giving life to sustainable, authentic and international collections.
To promote and support the initiative, PROMPERÚ – Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism, an institution that is committed to enhancing the productive and artisanal excellence of the country, encouraging the entry of Peruvian companies into the most competitive markets in the world. With Perú Moda Deco, Peru confirms itself as the protagonist of a global story where cultural identity, innovation and sustainability become synonymous with style and quality.
